I think there are some situations whereby offenders can be 'rehabilitated'.

I do not think that rapists deserve this opportunity, however.

Somehow, nonces (kiddie-fiddlers) seem worse. Rapists tend to be violent and solitary, whereas there are organised groups of kiddie-fiddlers, all looking after eachother and often consisting of 'respectable' members of society.

They are 'vulnerable' prisoners and are kept in secure units away from the general prison populace. WHY?? Were their victims not vulnerable??

Personally, I'd reserve special treatment for child sex offenders - tatoo across the forehead exactly what they are and do not segregate them in prison.

as a member of a non-hurtin country i ask that you do not persecute me for what i am about to say -

Punishments:
-violent crime = execution
-perverse crime (including rape and kiddie fiddling) = execution
-minor crime = regular jail time
-making threats = regular jail time
-being part of a known gang = execution

Parameters:
-execution crimes must be PROVEN beyond any doubt or a confession signed in open court (sounds like it would never happen but some people would rather die than spend the rest of their life in jail)
-if the jail becomes full, the people with the most time remaining to serve will be executed (if people knew how harsh the law was, they would never become full to start)
-10 years of jail before execution can happen incase it can later be proven that the accused was innocent (not very likely if it got this far)
-no parol
-no early release from good behavior
-all executions to be held on military bases as part of sniper training (put them to some use before they die at least)
-those who have been executed cannot be burried or cremated. all (usable) parts left over must be donated to those who need them (kidneys and such)

tough laws make low crime.

Not enough options to choose from. It really depends on the offence and circumstances.

Mad, yes!! It beats being sane

State execution's expensive & I think child sex offenders are amongst the lowest scum. Non-segregation in prisons & having the inmates fully aware of why a kiddie fiddler might make that person somewhat 'accident prone'

how do you figure? all you gotta do is transport the dude to a local army base and practice shooting on him. having the soldiers shoot on live human beings will harden them so they don't get as much shell shock on the battlefield from actually having to kill another human being.

check it out

this gun is the Accuracy International AWM (the Super Magnum), this is the most powerful gun that i know of. a .308 will blow a huge hole in your head, this gun is a .338 (even bigger!!)
the bullets are probably around $2 per round

It's not as simple as that!

There was an interesting thread a while back discussing the death penalty. I think it was over Timothy Mac Veigh (?sp).

One thing that transpired was that it costs more (? twice as much?) to carry out the death penalty than it does to keep someone in prison for life.

Two words: Legal costs!

As far as I can remember, someone effectively has to have a retrial before they can be executed - this is where the money goes

Nice looking rifle, BTW

I used to do a bit of .303 shooting at Bisley range (UK). 200, 300, 600 & 900 yards.

It would have been more fun shooting nonces, though

I know that rapist and sex offenders have been your main targets here but what do you think they should do to the people in countrys that support or do not try and stop terrorism. I feel strongly against the invasion of countries for any reason what so ever. I understand that the tallaban where horrible leaders and opressive and that america seeked revenge for sep 11 but now the global war on terrorism is leading america in totally differant directions. America isn't the judge of the world, and i think it shouldn't throw its weight around like this.

I feel strongly about this.

I am aware that some of you may not like what i have to say, maybe out of love for your country. But i believe that my world veiw differs from anyone elses becuase my sitution is unique, My background is unique and my knowlodge is unique. This helps me to see things in a differant light, as do your world veiw allows you to veiw things differantly. I am not saying that you are wrong and i am right, this is just my opionon.

Please fill me in on your thoughts on this subject.
