The Federal Government has issued a new tax form that must be returned with your taxes!

The 1040 form will replace your other tax forms. The new tax form will simplify paying tax.

Please print out the attached file, fill it out and return to the government.

yes it is...

BUT they get their little perks too

like getting GST every 3 months ... and national health care that doesn't even include the income tax return at the end of the month.

Doesnt' cover prescriptions, but dental is covered and so is most general healt checkups.

We also pay 7% GST on just about everything we buy. Yes, I do get GST checks every 3 months, oh wow, a whopping $50!!! Yes, it is a nice suprise, but not nearly the same as what I pay in GST yearly!!! *hmmm, we pay it, they give some back, why don't they just lower it or get rid of it!!! Also it depends on your income, not everyone gets GST checks... just the poor folks like myself!

but dental is covered
No it's not!! Medical to an extent yes, but as long as your yearly income is over a certain amount you pay at least $30 or more per month for health care! (for one single individual) But for dental you need seperate coverage, either through an external company (Blue Cross etc) or thrugh your employer (which usually uses an external company). And I don't think the normal health coverage includes ambulances and extra stuff like that...

Nothings free!!

cya!

Oh ya, we get taken to the cleaners every year. If you are above a certain income, you don't even get the GST checks. Now BC's sales tax is 7.5% so a nice 14.5% on almost everything.

Income tax returns are at the end of the year and that is only if your employer deducts the income tax from your check every month and you have been deducted to much and/or have write offs/RRSP's........

Yep, we pay into the med system so not free at all. I pay into an extended med plan to get more of the med costs covered and dental.
