Interesting read, Sweeper. It sounds like HDTV isn't out of the woods yet by a long shot.

wow what the guy described as HDTV seems a lot like what we call "digital TV" over here. You have to buy a set-top box to decode the digital signal and subscribe to a...umm subscriber. But what perplexes me is the "HDTV ready" bit. Any TV with a SCART input can get set-top boxes and receive digital TV, although mine has an inbuilt Digital decoder.

Am i thinking of the same thing?
