how many tech savvy people actually buy their PC's at Wal-Mart??

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...new_pcs&cid=70

check that link out.. hehe
they said it best over at hardocp.com

"I am not sure whether this is a good thing, or a bad thing. It looks as though Wal-Mart is going to offer computers that come with NO operating system installed. While that may be the good part, you can only wonder...how many tech savvy people actually buy their PC's at Wal-Mart?? "

Hmmm
that is a big risk for wal-mart not sure what to think of it.

I think it'll highly depend on what kind of machines they sell... I don't know myself, I wouldnt' mind buying parts there just because its so easy to exchange parts there... but typically they're horribly expensive vs. best buy.

I think that's a GREAT idea!
Picture it: Lots of unknowing folks - talking to untrained clerks - buy these things & return 'em.
Originally $599, bought on sale for $449, now on clearance as returned goods for $199...

I saw those "Naked"(settle down,y'all) pcs at Sam's Club about six months ago. They were around $199 then.Your basic barebones system.Looked pretty cheap to me.I'll buy one if it's red-tagged in my budget range.

Now that is something for Doc's Deals the next time you see it!
I'd drive to Vegas to go to the store in the big city for that!

I will never buy anything that is more than $50 at wall mart again.

About 3 years ago my wife bought a Compound Bow on sale from them. The original price was $225 marked down to $175 marked down to $125 marked down to $75. This is the price she paid for it. Since it was bought about 3 months before his B-day we waited to give it to him. When he finally did get it and checked it out for a fit, we found out that it was too big for him. I did some checking to see if it could be adjusted and had no luck. Back to Wal mart I go. Now I did not have a receipt but had the original packaging with the wall mart price tag still on it. The customer service lady said that they would give me $7.95 for the bow. I looked at her in disbelief. I told her she made a mistake since the price tag clearly show $75. SHe checked again $7.95. I asked to speak to the manager. He says the same thing $7.95. I asked him to show me a bow in the store that he had that was $7.95. I asked him if that sounded right. He said no but the computer says $7.95. Needs less to say I grabbed the bow and went across town and exchanged it at a diff wall mart for $75.

So if that being the case. I can see it now. Pc's will be returned and we can pick them up for $7.95. Ye haa
