Saving money when buying a new vehicle

We were one of the unlucky ones that were caught up in Toyota's take it or leave it buy back program for trucks. Since I appreciate vehicle shopping as much as a root canal, I was really dreading this. The dealerships locally were what I expected, lived right up or down to their reputations. By chance I found that I could do an internet search using various zipcodes (toyota.com) and come up with different pricing. I had to drive 460 miles but I saved 1263.00 on my new truck. No hassle either. I don't know if this works with other car brands.

So how is the result? You end up driving but get better price right?

My last 3 cars were purchased via cars direct. I hate dealerships!!!

And you can still negotiate online (like your finance terms, etc.)

Lot of Pros and Cons if you go through Dealers...

Better to buy directly....
