Kids Haaaelp me! Prosignia 740 worth?

Doing some work for a small business and am taking in a Compaq Prosignia 740 server as part payment. It has dual PIII 600 cpus, 2X 256MB ECC sdram memory, three scsi hard drives totalling 36.2GB (I think 3 drives - haven't looked, but sure on the GB), scsi writer, non-matching ide cdrom drive, floppy, Yamaha based pci sound card, 56K ISA modem. Appears to be stock except for the sound/modem. Server works fine but is noisey (think it needs some new fans).
Heavy as a boulder! What's something like that worth? Trying to figure out whether to sell it as a whole unit or piece it out. Thanks for any good input.

I'm not sure what it's worth, but after working on many Piss-ario's, I finally got to work on a Prosignia. I will say this -- the Prosignia is the Business/Commercial line and they are definitely not the same as the Piss-ario!

The one I worked on was extremely well built and ran as smooth as a baby's bottom, it was extremely fast for the CPU in it as well (PII 400MHz if I remember right). The owner wanted more security and stability, so had me up-grade it to W2KPro.

The only way I'd take a Piss-ario into my house is if they took the MoBo and PS out, but left the CPU and the rest inside and gave to me. I'd throw in a new PS, MoBo, fdisk/format and have a decent machine. But a Prosigna, I'd probably cover the name up and pay for the machine as well.

Point is -- when pricing, don't compare it as a Compaq Piss-ario, it's head and shoulders above them.

Thanks, and I wouldn't do that. Compaq and HP both put a tad more effort in the pro machines. This thing is built like a tank and runs smooth (although I would fdisk the drives and test them before anyone got it). Don't know what new fans would cost but I think anyone would HAVE to have them as this thing makes too much air noise.
The only one I can find for sale is a single cpu 550MHz model and they want $1200+ for that one. I'm thinking maybe a grand for the thing???????? Someone has to know but I reckon I'll go check the bay to see if any are on the block.

And while you're testing it, to see if it's a nice stable system, why not put one of the many UD clients on it?

I have no preferences, you can pick any of the TechIMO UD teams, they're all great!
