Food Posting Tips

Something I noticed today, and I'm not trying to be a smart @$$. But I do think it would be helpful to bring this up once in a while to remind people that often the information they are looking for is just a few clicks away.

Notice this: ?

Well if you click on it a whole new world opens up, and often your questions might be answerd.

Go ahead, try it!

Also, another thing I would like to mention. When you post a question about a problem, and other members invest some time and effort into helping you out, please do post back and let us know if the tips helped you solve your problems. That way a thread can become useful when used in collaboration with this:

Otherwise different people will be posting about the same problems over and over again, and the same tips and advice will be offered repeatedly.

I hope you will take this for what it is, friendly advice

I have been guilty of forgetting about the search function too.
And also of not posting back on some occasions to notify others whether their advice helped or not

Good reminder. Maybe should have put it in a few other forums.

My impression is that users are a little more thorough, and certainly more appreciative, about posting back when they've solved a problem here than other boards I frequent.

I get a kick out of people who post (not here) something like:
"HELPMYCOMPUTERWONTBOOTANDALLIGETISABLANKSCREENAND IDONTKNOWWHATTODOAND WINDOWSSUXANDTHISCOMPUTERSUXAND..."

Well, you get the idea. Then you never hear from them again.

Are you sure you didn't just figure out how to do the button thing?? J/K but couldn't resist!

I have to go now, and report myself to a moderator... as long as it took me to get it right was a crime!

I have to admit that I don't use that button very much... but that's because I have the TechIMO search page in a desktop toolbar

CM and Surreal, I'm disappointed though. If you're gonna show the search button, at least make it clickable -->
