2001 Chevy S-10 4x4 wheel caps?

Hey guys

I have a 2001 Chevy S-10 4x4 and lost one of my Chevy wheel caps that covers the center of the Aluminum wheel. This cap isnt but 4 inches in diameter and mostly if not all plastic.

The dealer wants $43.00 dollars for one of these. I am outraged. The sad part is that this beautiful truck looks horrible with that cap misisng.

I know where there is a whole lot full of these caps but my conscious gets the better of me.

Anyone know if these are available for aftermarket or OEM real cheap.

Thanks

J

Yea, I know what you mean. I need one for my '94 S-10 4x4 and the only place I can find them is the dealer.

Try calling a salvage yard. You can often get them less than half of dealer prices.

There is nothing available around here at any salvage yards. We have quite a few to choose from too. That was the first place I checked.

Its tough because there were 4 or 5 different wheel models for my year of truck and the salvage yard can tell me what truck they have they dont know the wheels that are on them. Fortunately most of our salvage yards are in the same neighborhood of each other. It made looking and not finding a little easier....

I e-mailed Chevrolet cutomer service and also am mailing the same letter via snail mail. Maybe I will get lucky and they will send me a credit or something.

I did that at KFC for bad service once and got a free bucket of chicken. Of course I still dont go back to that specific KFC. But the coupon was good at any of them....

You've probably already tried this, but... Try some aftermarket custom wheel dealers. Sometimes they have contracts with dealers on swaps or take wheels in on trade. Worth a couple of phone calls anyway.

You can probably find a generic part cheaper, but the fit and look will not be that of the dealer part. I bought some aftermarket (generic) parts for a truck at the shop one time, and the things were a little smaller and the lines on the fenders didn't line up, and some of the bolt holes wouldn't line up. After that Ialways buy factory parts.I know this is just a centercap, but it won't look as good as the other three IMO.

Look at these

This is all I could find, Hope one of them works for you
