my first jump....

i mean sky diving...

since i was 17 i've always wanted to go. now that i'm 30, i'm thinking it's now or never.

does anyone have any pointers before i sign that paper saying i can't sue the company? what should i alway remember to do before and during the jump? other that not to forget to pull the cord.

thanks,
r0l0e

My first suggestion would be to find a good psychiatrist. I have never understood why anyone would want to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft.

LOL!! perfect plane or not, no one can talk me out of jumping. unless i find a good enough reason for not jumping, i'm still doing it in three weeks.

the prices aren't bad either. about $200 for the instruction and gear. the solo jump will only cost the gear rental and airplane gas, about $50 .

BTW, i have talked to a shrink and he advised me to "face my fears". i hate hights, so i'm only doing what he said.

and don't give that "if someone told you to jump of a plane, would i do it?" bit either.

LOL! i'm sure you'll get your chance. we were also talking about bungee jumping or repelling from a hellicopter when we were having dinner.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving isn't for you.

AIRBORNE! You go WART!

ps, I never felt like I was high up when I jumped, I only get that feeling trying to string Christmas lights on my house - go figure.

I only jumped for the military, but, I guess you should make sure that the person that is licensed or something, especially who ever is packing ur chute ask them how long they've been doing it, how many jumps they've made and how long they've been packing chutes.

Other than that, watch that first step - then relax and enjoy the view.

All my jumps were static line - jump, and then pow, the chute tugs you. Didn't feel like a roller coaster at all. No one ever threw up while jumping - (though a few did in the plane on the way up!)
