192 mil makes people get nuts, I hate it---clogs up my normal ability to purchase at my local store---these dopes in line may as well turn around and give me their hard earned dollar...still kills me---it was supposed to benefit our school system here in Calif---my friend a teacher says it gets the carpet changed regularly in the front office---yet she has to buy the pencils for her classes...

I am confused, the CA lotto is up 192 mil, how do you know it is 41 mil to one person?

Yep---are those good odds??? Maybe im unsure?
I havnt gambled (consciously) on anything as far as $$$ goes in my years... been to Vegas (didnt drop a dime) never bought a silly lotto ticket either...

The odds of winning the jackpot only used to be 14 million to one.

Geeze...you really had a chance back then!

Then they threw in the "exciting new MEGA-NUMBER" that makes it "EASIER TO WIN."

And the odds went to 41 million to one. WTF? How can they claim it's "easier to win"?

Simple...they increased the number of $1 and $2 prizes.

So...evidently...that's winning!

I guess that's what they mean when they say "Our schools Win Too."

I'm completely against gambling...

It'd be interesting to see the profit the state makes from the tickets sold....what if there's no winner?lol

Warty, the money rolls over until someone(or multiple someones) wins it.
The way the Texas lottery is set up, when you win and choose the payment plan, you actually never see any of the money that you win. What the state does is place a bid for an annuity based on the prize amount. They invest the money and you get the earnings from it. That's why when you want the "gimme all of it now" option you only get about half of it.(more or less)
