There are a couple of ways to restore the recycle bin to your desktop.

1. Right-click an empty area of your desktop
2. Select Properties
3. Click the Desktop tab
4. Click the Customize button
5. Click Restore Default
6. Exit all windows and restart your computer

If that doesn't do it, you can restore it in your registry:

Be sure to make a backup copy of your registry prior to making any changes.

Go to Start>> Run. Type in: regedit [Enter]

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

Hold the mouse on NameSpace and right-click once. From the resulting menu, select Edit>> New>> Key

Copy and Paste the following Key code (including the brackets):

{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Press Enter on your keyboard, exit the registry editor and restart your system.

when i used to have win95, my sis would use it. after she was done i would use it and in the recycle bin i see the windows folder. I check it out and inside is the whole windows directory and all the stuff that is in the windows folder. everytime she would use it that would happen.
