Normally I don't have a lot to say around here, but I just can't sit quiet on this one.
Apparently a teacher in Kansas tried to fail 28 students for plagiarising their final paper in her biology class. The parents complained to the school board, and the school board tried to force her to change the way she graded her class, so the students would not fail. She was forced to resign because she would not give in to the parents or the school board.

I cannot believe that there exists such a lack of integrity and ethics in the school board and the parents of those kids. The kids deserve to fail, unfortunately we can see exactly where their notion of integrity (or lack of) came from, the parents. I really hope that this is an isolated incident, but am afraid that it happens all the time. This is just another example of people not wanting to take responsibility for their own actions. In this case, they don't have anyone to sue, so they just complain as loud as they can for as long as they can until the others give in.
I applaud the teacher (and many of her coleagues) for resigning and holding true to her principles. I hope that we can find more people like her to teach the children of the future what integrity is, and why it is important.
