Nah, they'll bomb us and we'll bomb them and some of their friends as well. Then all of their friends will bomb us... everybody knows that

Welp, we've had asteroid hits, plagues, and wars (although not nuclear ones) and the Earth has continued to exist, although virtually lifeless at times. So, if the question is what is the ultimate fate of this ball of rock with the fuzzy blue and green coating, you'd have to go with a solar incineration job.

If the question is what's the ultimate fate of humanity/life/civilization, well, we'll probably all toast each other over whether we should worship a shoe or a gourd. (A little reference to Monty Python's "Life Of Brian" but you get the idea).

I think you should have made the title, "What will be the fate of man." I think the earth will stay but man will die out. Most likely from a virus. That virus will most likely be man made by a religious fanatic.

I heard on NPR (Nat'l Public Radio) that mankind had hit the limit of evolution.

These scientists in England had deduced that with our present comfort level, we have no need to adapt anymore to any external condition. The Darwinist model had reached its conclusion...

Having said that, let's just hope that those who believe our universe is just a large laboratory, and that God is really a group of scientists, etc. are WRONG!!!

Otherwise, it could get mighty toasty around here when they fire up that ol' cosmic Bunsen burner...

Eventually the sun will implode. Question is will we self destruct before that?

My opinion: Status quo for a long long time. Evolution is a process with no end. Who know what the humans wil evolve into. Remember in the 3 billion years of earth's existence mammals have been around for only a few million years. We are just in a "split-second window" of evolution. We don't have the ability to comprehend such long periods of time. A million years? Humans cannot grasp that. Just as we can't understand what a billion tons of matter is. Or earth's weight. These are notional abstract thoughts. Human existence is but an eye blink in the scheme of things.

IMO, things will go on evolving, not necessarily in a catastrophic sense. There may be a few blips but evolution goes on and so does Darwin's theory.

It's already settled. Read your Bibles. 2 Peter 3:10.

Yep, gotta say I agree with John. It's already planned - it's only that WE don't know much about it yet!

There is the minor matter if interpretation of what God has planned, but really, WHO CARES!! When the earth ends I ain't gonna be writin' it's biography! Gonna get me a place in paradise!

No apologies to those who consider themselves atheists out there - as someone once said, the truth will out!
