California: Urgent -- Support the California Healthy Pets Act
Each year in the U.S., approximately 3-4 million homeless dogs and cats die in shelters. Pet overpopulation is a huge problem and can be curbed by spaying and neutering animals. Dogs and cats who are spayed or neutered tend to have fewer health problems and can be less aggressive. The California Healthy Pets Act (
A.B. 1634) would reduce pet overpopulation in California through spaying and neutering, thereby saving hundreds of thousands of animal lives.
Urgent! Opponents of this animal welfare bill have organized large numbers of people to target legislators in an attempt to change their votes and prevent its passage. They are even calling from out-of-state, and harassing particular lawmakers. We can’t let the puppy mills out-hustle animal advocates on this important pet protection bill. Legislators need to hear from their constituents -– you! -– so they know you support this sensible reform.
