My ongoing battle with Comcast
Jan 6th- I can't take it anymore....Call Comcast and tell them to send me a Cable Modem. OK sir, you'll be up and running in a couple weeks top.
Jan18th or so - Call and ask "Uh, where's my self install kit and cable modem?"
Comcast: "Oh, the person who entered the order messed it up, it would have never been processed. I'll fix it...ok, you should get it by the end of next week."
Last Week of Jan: Cable modem arrives- plug in- blink, blink, blink.
Call Comcast....Helpful rep tries pinging my modem....nothing....confirm MAC...try again....hummm...."Must be an RF problem, we'll schedule a trouble call."
Comcast service shows up...yep, no signal to your cable modem from our servers because we don't have a line to your house, this is a Millenium Cable line.
OK.....so now it's the end of January, and Comcast has figured out that they don't actually have a line to my house....*groan*
Early this week- they're digging up the neighborhood putting the line in.
That evening my neighbor stops by and says "Our Millenium Cable quit working after they were working on your line." Turns out a few neighbors had their cable knocked out by Comcast. I was impressed how quickly they ran the line...apparently they weren't too concerned with what they were cutting through.
So, now it's Feb 7th, over 1 month after I ordered, and here's the status-
After working all day, Millenium Cable restored all my neighbor's cable that Comcast had knocked out.
I have a Comcast line piled in a coil next to my house, not hooked up. It's a big fat cable, or I'd just rig it up and be done with them. But I dont' have the right connectors to finish the job. Nor do I have any strong desire to finish what Comcast should have finished.
It took 30 minutes, most of it on hold, but the Comcast rep finally understood the situation ( or at least pretended he did). Service call scheduled for Saturday.
Still waiting........
