Upgrade Path - Time to Buy
I'm curious as to how many people were in the situation I was in. I never upgraded to Win XP, still running Win 98 on my Duron/GF4 desktop. Win XP didn't do anything that Win 98 couldn't do, and I never needed the extra memory or processor power required or afforded by XP.
So I just purchased a new desktop, with an express upgrade to Vista. I couldn't pass up the deal, a state of the art system at an incredible price. And the benefit of never having to pay for the XP upgrade, OR the Vista upgrade! And its nice knowing that I'll get actual Vista disks, since the system manufacturer didn't include OS disks with the system, as many don't.
I should be good for another 8-10 years now, with the OS anyway.
