Quick note about chat
I had originally planned to schedule chat sessions but that idea required a bit too much planning for me , so I thought I'd open up the chat room for 24/7 use. Please don't abuse it and please report any abuse to myself or the mods.
Many thanks to DocHopper, Virus and others for making the IRC channel available that our forum's java chat client uses, and thanks to Praetorian for the the heads up .
Scott

Ummmmm....am I not understanding something? No offense but that chat has been up for a long time and has been well advertised. There was a thread I started in the Suggestion area, of which you never responded to until recently. What is going on? Finally I gave up. But now we have two chats basically competing against each other? I'm not trying to be rude but I am wondering where the hard work has gone.
What happened to yesterday's #techimo_channel ? Now it's different. What's going on?

I am with wart on this one, I understand that you are slightly busy. Come on now, I have sent you several private messages and I obviously have posted and now there is a Techimo chat?

Look under the IMO Community, it's a link you can click on , just like "Community" or "Distributed Computing". I like this, I went to chat a couple times, nobody was home. Maybe more ppl will join in.
edit> oh, I see. There's two chats?

Come on guys, you're being a little rough on Scott. He's a busy guy and he's got business stuff to do and take care of. They got a chat up now, so that's part of what you were asking for. As for the channels, well you've seen me hanging around in DC quite a bit (except for lately, thank you work for making me work). We're moving in the right direction, let's just get the bugs ironed out and be grateful for the space!
Likewise Uethello, every time I checked in, no one was around... Give it some time to catch on, I'm sure more bored groupies will show up.

Really busy? Really busy with the site? I know, that's what I figured.

I don't know... I woulda thought that it would have been difficult to miss the pm's and several threads floating around about the chat channel.. I was in there a couple times myself... but who am I to judge Scott.. he probably has his reasons....

I may not be a senior member, but thats cause I dont post much... This is all getting a little ridiculous and rude in my opinion.... even approaching "flaming." Moreso, it seems to be an assault from elder members. If I created this board, worked hard to make it a place that most would find comfortable and appealing as well as a virtual home, I would be insulted by the lack of respect and consideration. I certainly would not allow someone to walk into my house and insult me especially considering the lengths I have gone to not only be successful with the site (making it better for everyone) but to also do it with members satisfaction as a priority. I think everyone needs to remember that being here is not a right... it is a privilege. Your comments, plugs, insults and thoughts embarrass me. I would prefer you leave or withhold making posts. Just because you are senior or ultimate members does not mean you are entitled to anything more and you clearly show that senior/ultimate doesnt mean credible or valuable.
(I dont mean to make generalized statements and this is in no way meant toward all senior or ultimate members. Only those who lack integrity and decency... as well as manners)
