BE ON THE LOOKOUT, HELP FIND RC DRAFT

Hey, it's nothing crucial, don't want to alarm, just something important to me that's been driving me crazy for years.
Maybe three years ago or more I used to drink my favorite pop of all time, RC Draft Cola. I really don't drink pop much, but I just can't get enough of this stuff. The stopped making it and selling it, or atleast they did here. I've now found that they are making it in Japan and Australia and some places here will sell it but not many places.
Has anyone seen it for sale? Someone told me they see it at Target in the Austin, TX area at times and some areas of CA. Now someone for sure has seen it and is currently drinking it in Ohio.
Can anyone help me? I need to find a store in my area who could get some from a distributor or take a heck of a long road trip.

Can't help. Drink only beer.

Cold.

With a slice of pepperoni.

And extra cheese.

I hear you, beer's fine too. I can find all the kinds of beer I like, but can't find this at all.
That is a good back up plan though.

Beer yuck, a good long island ice tea (with no ice tea added) works wonders though

Anyways, I coulda swore I've seen RC Cola (not sure on the "Draft" thing though) around these parts...

Course everybody down here drinks that "Soda" thing...
I personally prefer POP lol

From what I recall, Royal Crown Cola is now a regional brand. Competition is intense. Remember it from school days though.

Vass0922: You're kidding, of course.

Yep, there is that difference in lingo in different areas of the country. RC Draft is the same company but a different style. RC Draft is a premium cola, made with pure cane sugar, in bottles, it has sort of a strange taste. RC cola is good too though, I can get that here.

I belive that Royal Crown and 7 Up are one in the same.

Because not many places carry 7 up products on fountain due to Pepsi and Coke that might be why it is hard to find RC.

Best bet is to look for not only RC but any 7 up product on fountain. Once you find a place ask the manager who the local distributor is for the syrup. Once you've got the local sales reps number you can call and ask where the nearset RC fountain is (he'll know his route by hart and it will probably cover a wide area near you). If your really desperate he can run a contract with you to carry a 7 up soda fountain (they usually lease the equipment on a contract basis for a certain time period as long as the equiptment only dispenses 7 up products). The distributor can sell you the 5 Gal BNB syrup (bag in a box) which will probably run you about $50. (BTW they rig the BNB connection to be proprietary by brand - i.e. a Coke BNB will not connect to Pepsi fountain equiptment. There are ways around this though) The soda mixes typically at 5 to 1 (5 parts soda water to 1 part syrup). This will yeild 30 Gallons before you will have to change the BNB. How much can you drink in a month? LOL

Oh, I for got to mention....places like 7 11 or Circle K make frachise nationwide deals which allow different brands to exist on the same soda fountain equiptment. These place usually do not deal with a distributor (or at least they don't have to) because they can get all the syrup they need from their grocery distributor.

Thanks Stimp, I'm not sure if they offer it in fountain at all but they must, I've only had it in bottles. Atleast I could talk to someone from the company who might be able to find someone for me to speak with. I tried writing a while ago, but heard nothing at all.

Local distributor reps are always anxious to add another stop on the route (cha ching sounds in the air). If a local distributor thinks your a store owner I guaranteee you'll get a quick response. I'm not sure how good the response will be when it is found out you don't own a store ...but it will definately be a fast response! LOL!
