Coverage from medical insurance

I a getting the runaround from my insurance company regarding the coverage of a home air filter system for my daughter with Bronchittis. It took 5 faxes before they acknpwledged that it was received. They requested a medical necissity letter(doctors script from office) from my doctor stating her condition and the solution.I am now currently on the phone with the insurance company discussing the difference of a medical of what paper a medical necessity letter is written on.They have now told me that I need to include a predetermination letter, there is nothing to predetermine here( I allready have the unit installed).

If I was in the postion to where I could not afford this without help from the insurance company the posibility is very high that my daughter would be in the hospital.

I have now asked to speak to a manager, still waiting.

Help anyone?

Does the Better business bureau handle insurance complaints? I am not sure if they do, but what you're experiencing is a time honored tradition w/ most insurance companies - they keep delaying hoping you will give up. I'm in a similar situation regarding a medical prescription.

Miserable P.O.S. b@st@rd$ They don't give a sh337 about anyone.

Your local state should have an insurance commisioner that governs all insurance companies on what they can, and cannot do. I would call them on something like this. I can't tell you personally what to do, but they may be able to help you (or maybe not, but it's worth a shot). I know we have had to call them over some greedy insurance companies in the past.

Good luck,

Keep us posted,

Gary
