How TechIMO is run

I've contacted wyvrn to get a bit more information about his departure since I couldn't be more clueless about why he'd want to leave this great community.

I'm running TechIMO based upon the experience that I've acquired from doing this for 7 or 8 years now. If anyone dislikes policies, the thing that everyone should always know is that you can just email me if you want to see something changed and I'll give it serious consideration. Over the years when I was operating SysOpt, I tried to always listen to the community and make changes to policies according to the communities wishes and what made the most sense.

TechIMO is new but the community is not and neither are the policies here. The site is growing rapidly and I couldn't be happier with the people that frequent the site.

Scott,

IMO this place is great. Naturaly I dont always agree with everything that is said, but when do I? Isnt that the whole reason for this site? To get different opinions? Most of the real dissagreements happen in the community forums, but then again thats what they are for, we all need space to vent and rant sometimes. I also dont understand why he has made the decision to leave. He has always been a great help here. I hope he reconsiders and stays.

Dave.

You can only hope to please the majority. There is no possible way to make every person happy all the time.

I'm clueless, too. I sent wyvrn an e-mail along the lines of 'are you sure?' and 'you're gonna be missed'. I think his exit was a classy one, in that he tried his best not to create a range war; however, the very statement itself creates a mystery.

I often 'lurk' in the tech sections, reading, trying to learn, and wyvrn is one of those guys whose posts were well-written and articulate. I have benefitted from his presence here and would hate to see him go. Hell, I hate to see any of my new friends leave this marvelous community.

Wyvrn, if you're checking in and reading this, please know we're keepin' the keyboard warm for ya!

Oh good grief....we're not leaving this site too are we?

...er, nevermind...that wasn't too funny...

Seriously though, I've got no complaints, and I've always known I could email you or others with my opinions.

If I ever wanted to "leave" I probably wouldn't "leave", I'd just check in less and less.
It's the quality of the site that keeps me coming back.

Keep up the good work Scott, and I hope his concern is resolved somehow.

And if you do manage to make everyone happy....I'M OUTTA HERE!!!

LOL...can't stand bland, boring, non-confrontational nonsense.

I agree its not a random person but you still can't really tailor it to just his tastes can you? I'm curious though as to what he feels isn't being run correctly. Some people are not happy about the nonsense in the community forums, etc.

I hope he contacts you, Scott. I've PM'd and emailed him also. Wyvrn has always been a good member and I, for one, don't like to see him go.

True, you can't please everyone. But I can totally backup the fact that Scott is truly concerned and does his best to keep us happy here.

Wyvrn, if you're reading this, at least contact Scott and give him some input. You'll be heard.
