I was offered a new toy at work friday.

So there I was at work friday making my round's. Seeing that it was 8:30 a.m. it was time for break. As I walked into the cafeteria one of My buddy's from the conference center flag's me over to his table ,and proceed's to tell me that "Clint want's to know if you want a motherboard."(Clint is a V.P. at the hospital)

Well after break I wandered up to the 8TH floor to see what he had .( last time it was an old 486 tower )

Knocked on his door ,said hello,and asked what he had for me.

he said he's not sure the exact model off hand ,but it's an amd slot board with a 750 athlon ,and the heatsink's and fan's!

His son had trouble with a video card conflict of some sort(some nvidia card) So he just upgraded the board and cpu.

He know's I like to tinker with them so he thought he'd ask.

told him to bring it in I would love to have it ,and thank you very much!

He said he will bring it in next week. Now I am actually looking forward to Monday!

Actually it was a good week . I also got my transfer back to 3pm-11pm . yea, i finaly get to find out who that woman is in my bed every morning! (wife work's 3-11,presently I work 7am-3pm)

(to bad that's only an 8% increase in pay and not 40% like some other people around here)

I wish he was my boss also. The only time I do anything for him is if it's a setup in the confrence center.

Just to update this,

The motherboard is an Abit KA7 (I REALLY wanted one of these when they first came out, but couldn't afford it)

Athlon slot a 700mhz

And to top it all off a gold finger's device. he said his son used to get it up to 850mhz.

I can't wait to see what it will do with a little arctic silver instead of a huge gob of white paste.

It's mine free and clear. I have it here at home now i just have to get me another case, and add it to the herd.

It should be fun running it against the other 2 to see which will be faster.
the duron's i have a 600 and a 750 or the 700 slot .

the 750 will run 900 I have just backed off of it while trouble shooting .
