OK I have a bit of a problem. I am the lead singer of a band...and well I have a bit of a sore throat and if I sing for more than 2 minutes or if I try to go high at all my voice starts to get scratchy and then breaks. You can see how that is presenting me with a problem.

I am going out of town for the weekend so if anything that any of you can think of might take more than one day I am all for it..

I have already tried drinking hot sauce it helps but it doesnt last.

I've heard lemon juice works too. I don't know personally, but when I was in a band, our singer was having problems and he said that it helped him. Give it a shot, couldn't hurt.

warm lemon juice helps loosen the chords, and warm water too, nothing cold though.
Play lots of Bethoven j/k
tell them your an instru-mental band?
a lot of whiskey won't help, but you won't remember.
A few suggestions left over from the road
seriously good luck,

My former wife actually DID have a couple of good ideas rattling around that head of hers, and one remedy that she applied to almost ANYTHING was surprisingly effective:

In a saucepan , bring 1-1/2 cups water to a boil, drop in 2 Lipton (or similar) tea bags. Simmer at moderate heat 20 min.

Remove teabags, add 2 Tbsp. honey, juice of 1 or 2 lemons, and 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (more, if you can stand it.)

YOU HAVE TO DRINK THE WHOLE THING. You can add honey if you like. It's the darndest concoction, works for everything from head colds to breaking a fever, and it's cheap, too!

Hope this helps.

Yeah, the pepper will sweat anything out. The honey's good for the throat. Hot tea gives it the flavor.

Good for you after a Vermouth too.
