Reputation points?

I noticed the "scales" on the right side of the posts made, now that all the user information is along the top of each post...is this something we are going to implement here? Personally, I think it's a good thing as long as reputation points can't be abused.

I'd almost want to think that a person wouldn't be able to boost or detract reputation points until they've been with the forums either for a certain time period, or a certain number of posts, such as user titles go at TIMO.

I think it's a great idea especially for in the traders forums.

Yes, we have enabled the reputation system and hope that it can prove to be useful here on RR. By requiring at least a minimium post count before points can be awarded we hope to reduce the inappropriate use of the system.

What good does this point scale do concerning my selling/buying on the Traders forum?

Reputation points are enabled but are not currently being actively used. We have possible plans to better integrate reputation points with certain aspects of the forum, but for now, they can essentially be disregarded IMO.

For the points to be more useful, I think you may need to be able to subtract some, too.
