An apology and a warning

<apology>
I will say now that I am sorry for anything that I might say in the near future.
</apology>

<warning>
My wife and I have agreed that on the first of Feb. we will be quitting smoking. I am hoping that my temper does not get shot, If it does see (apology) above. I have bought my last pack of smokes yesterday. The hardest part is that I am having a superbowl party on sunday and alcohol will be present. I can do it. All smoking will be done outside.
</warning>

This is my request of my TechIMO family. I will need your support in my 8 try to quit. I will keep you all posted as to my progress and setbacks.

korgul <soon to be smoke free after 17 years of it.>

The best of luck to you Korgul. I have also been thinking of quitting. I am down to about 1 pack a day from 2.

Boy, both of you quitting at the same time?? Even more luck to you there

no but seriously good luck you can do it!

quitting is easy!
Can do it everytime!
I quit last april... current circumstances REALLY tend to push me back towards it, but have not done it yet

So good luck to ya, and we'll just keep the mods close by in case we need a quick delete/edit/de-swear of your posts LOL

Fellow Quitter...AND PROUD OF IT

I quit "Cold Turkey" two years ago.

My way:

I did not smoke for three (3) days.

On the fourth (4th) day, I smoked a Camel (no filter)... it made me so sick that I have never smoked since.

Best of luck, Korgul, and hats off to ya. I found that the "biting heads off of anything that moves and maybe even if it doesn't" phase kicks in at about 3 weeks.

If you have any "minor" surgeries that need doing but you've been putting them off, say that knee injury from high school foot ball, or the frontal lobodomy that you keep putting off..

Get it done BEFORE you try to quit.

Something about the stuff they put ya to sleep with makes cigs taste awful to the patient, many people here have quit smoking after 30+ years following an operation.

Working in a company with 10k + employees has benefits
