Media Renounced my membership at sysopt.. I had enough

Hi all,

I have finally had enough... Posts going unanswered for the simplest things. Posts full of vulgarity and just plain rudeness.
I dont like trolls, blowhards or post nazi's I've been there since Nov. 1999 and that places has gone to absolute hell. I thought i would stay and help out at the old site, but not anymore. Im happy myself, the older members from the old sysopt, the mods and the new members have a new place to call home. I have alot more to say but its more of a feeling so i'll just leave it at that. sorry for the rambling, but im angry, Im very happy we have a new much better site, but so angry that the new owners, internet.com have turned what was once my favorite spot on the web into a cesspool.

see ya on the boards and my new favorite spot

XT, Welcome aboard. Sad... I was over there recently, looking up Heidi Monson's definitive article on RAM timings and such. Boy, what a wasteland.

Glad to have ya!

Yeah ... those ****** at SysOpt

Please refrain from profanity.
I'm sorry that is not appropriate here.
Please re-read the section of the Faqs regarding Etiquette and Proper Conduct.

XT: Welcome to TechIMO! Yep, I've noticed a lot of vulgar language being used over there and a lot of posts are unanswered for hours. Anyway, nice to have you here. Hope you didn't say anything mean on your way out ot SysOpt... :-/

Actually - yes. I'm a Moderator of SysOpt.

And it called "irony"

I'm getting sick and tired to see these kind of posts. I don't know in what way XT got offended by SysOpt, it's members or it's staff, but posting posts like this one doesn't honor him much. If you don't agree with something - write there, people will see and listen, Mods will not ban/mistreat you just for nothing. What are you trying to achieve by coming here and complaining - respect and simpathy ? Or just an attempt to make friends by going together with everybody else and saying "here I am, SO suxx TechIMO ruleZ" ?! Don't know, I expect a more mature behavior from a Nov. 1999 member ...

My mom used to tell me when I was young (and I hated when she did it) : "So what if everybody else is doing it ? If everybody else gonna jump off the 20th floor - will you jump together with them ?" She definitely had something ...
I truly liked the previous staff of SO, Scott, Mntsnow, Soc and all the rest, and was very sad with how the things turned out, but I stayed there, and tried to do my best to keep it a good place as it was before. True, Community was much stronger with previous staff, and can't be compared at all to today's, but what do you expect ? It's a HARDWARE forum, Community is just a one of another dozen of forums ! And of coz neither of you "fighters" don't like threads and posts regarding new staff being modded ... well, I'm sorry, but it's not a democracy here. Try posting personally offending threads here on TechIMO and I'll see how many posts you'll be able to make ...

You might like or not like the current staff of SysOpt, but you must understand that we only do our job. Nothing personal, no personal enemies, just trying to keep the board running, to keep it a place where you can ask tech. question and get proper answer, not to turn it into a buttlefield !

So ... "Posts going unanswered for the simplest things. Posts full of vulgarity and just plain rudeness"

Name single "simple" post which didn't get answered after some time ! Name single post "full of vulgarity and just plain rudeness" !
Sure, you can ask whatever you like to, and sure, "Should I buy GeForce or Voodoo" sounds kinda simple, but why won't you do a search on the forums' database before you post such a thread ?! I'm regged at SysOpt just a bit over a year now, and in this time I saw very few threads which didn't have similar ones posted sometimes before. And I don't even post in a threads like this anymore, for an obvious reason - boring ! And it's my right not to post when I don't want to.
And speaking of number of unanswered posts (please don't ban me for this, TechIMO GODS ) - pay close attention to the situation on hardware forums here on TechIMO vs SysOpt - I'm coming here on 30.1 and still see posts from 28.1 ... what does it mean ?!
And I still like this site and visit it on a daily basis ... so for me it means totally nothing ...
As for "vulgarity and plain rudeness" - don't aware of a single case when a thread with bad language/spam/personal offending/etc wasn't closed as soon as it was detected by the Mods. So you got no case here neither.

For the conclusion :
It's a 3:40am now, and I have to take some rest, got a quite busy day tomorrow.
I just want to say that this post isn't turned against nobody specific, I'm just trying to make a point here. Nothing personal. Do whatever you want, just stay polite, and everything will be just FINE

For the Mods
SysOpt staff agreed not to allow such a threads at SysOpt, "war" between the two sites MUST STOP. So, closing this thread would be a wise idea, IMHO

Best Regards
ND
