is it just me or is the layout of our main page freakily similar to www.anandtech.com ??

with our upcoming tweaks in place later...this site may resemble anandtech...only in blue and white. I have nothing against anandtech or their site, but i think we need to reconsidder our design to be original. right now, to me at least and mainlyon the front page, it looks the same with different colors...

Well, i always visit anandtech looking for articles and info .. but i never noted what you are talking about ...

Maybe both sites look like each other, but -for me- there are many differences than color ... take a closer look and you will see that we have a different design, maybe not huge difference but it exists ...

Actually I don't think they look anything alike, really, but I'm viewing them in windows (not full screen) on 1024 x 768 with IE5.5.

Maybe in a different browser / resolution... but even then there are too many dissimilar fonts / components. The actual "layout" is very similar to many tech forum sites I've seen, which I think is a good thing as it is something I associate with tech forums. But to say they "look" the same - doesn't for me.

IMO anyway. Maybe the website design gurus have a comment?

Its probably semi similar to a lot of sites.
In some ways that is good in that its easier for other users to transition in...

I think the main part that is similar is just the two sides with the banners & articles etc. The center is really not the same. Its still news but they're presented in different ways.

lots of similarities i'd say.....not that it's bad, just not an original design really.

I think if you visited quite a few tech forumes, such a sysopt (pardon my mention), o'clockers forums, etc, you would be able to check the same items. It's a familiar face sort of thing.

I'll agree TechIMO does look a bit similar to AnadTech. But so does Virtual Hideout and a couple dozen other sites. A lot of websites use similar layouts to others but it doesn't make them copycats IMO.
