HP ZE4400 Help

Hello, I just purchased a used laptop for $500, but i'm unable to use it unfortunately, it has a drive lock which won't allow me to operate the computer..i went back to where i bought the laptop & she said it had belonged to her father who has passed away & she nor her mother know the password.
I contacted HP but under the circumstances they are unable to help me, does anyone have any suggestions?

The seller should have a receipt or other manufacturer or retail documentation which can be used to verify the ownership so HP can help you. How do you [or we, for that matter] know the unit is not stolen?

Your best bet is to get your money back for the computer, as the seller sold you an item unfit for use or unable to perform. If you cannot get your money back, sue for it in small claims court.

Thank you..

I appreciate your feedback thank you very much!! yes under the circumstances she did offer to return my money to me, she had explained to me.. that at the time of his death they had so much to clean up & move out of his apt, she did'nt have an opportunity to go thru all of his thing's at the time. She think's the receipt may of been tossed out as a piece of trash if he kept it in the apt, but expected important documents to be in his safe deposit box, the laptop receipt was'nt in the box unfortunately.
Well i'm going to return it monday if i can't find a solution this weekend...Thank's again. Sharon.
