I was surprised to see them advertised during Christmas. I didn't know they were still made.

I also spent many hours a day as a kid on this. It was either Lite Brite or Legos for me.

Ahhh, lite-brite. What an excellent toy.

If only I could relive those days.

I just bought the new light brite for my son just last christmas. I wish they were that nice when I was a kid. Also bought lego type blocks that come in different designs. We got the airplane.

I can't believe the complexity of the toys for today children. My son got bored with the airplane so I ended up finishing it. It took me eight hours to put all the blocks together following the directions.

I found the one our daughter had, including some of the unused black sheets with patterns on them. Our grandson got bored very quickly and I think our daughter finished the one he started. Her second childhood?

Our grandson from about 4 on (he's 6-1/2 now) has loved those Lego things. He'll look at the pictures in the sheet that comes with them and somehow is able to construct those things by just glancing at the sheet. It really surprised me as I thought he'd have trouble with them...then you have to see the dozen variations of the original item with more and different features that he makes by modifying the original one.

Our daughter sure wouldn't have been able to do something like that when she was young and I think our granddaughter who's 4 years younger than our grandson isn't going to be able to do that either.

And some claim there's no difference between girls and boys!!!
