Greetings from warm, sunny California...

And this is the first time ever students of this school have seen this:

brrrrrrr. It's freakin' cold! I'm moving to Texas.

You obviously are in the wrong (right?) place! I'm less than 30 miles south of there and it's 39 at 7:30 this morning and there are broken clouds and more sun than not. The concrete patiio is wet but not soaked and NOT A TRACE OF SNOW!

Very spotty storm and I know the weather reports on TV last night at 11 PM said probable snow overnight.

I can't see Mount Hamilton to the east of San Jose without going to the end of the block but I'd suspect those mountains are snow covered. And also I suspect the coastal range to the other side of us a mile or two away is also snow covered.

I was a student at Stanford in 1961-62 school year and remember waking up one weekend morning wondering why it was so bright outside and quiet. Reason? A blanket of an inch or two of snow on everything!

It does snow in coastal (SUNNY?) California!

Very unstable storm. It's moving into the SO Cal area, and we're expecting thunderheads, hail, and funnel clouds.

/me checks the surge/spike protector and Intellicast.

LOL... does the highway dept. even have snow plows and salt spreaders there?

We've had a really mild winter here, (as has most of the East Coast). I work outside, and I was in a T-shirt much of the day because it's in the mid 60's and sunny here.... same forcast for tomorrow.

Well it's pretty nice in Fresno right now, though a little chilly. But this morning at 7:00 AM it hailed.

Some snow is expected this evening, but I'm not convinced. It's only snowed twice in Fresno in the last 25 years. Only once did it stick to the ground more than 24 hours.

I can't believe they closed the school's for that. That wasn't much more than a flurry. you would need a good foot or heavy drifting to get them to close here. (ok now somebody in alaska is gonna pop in and say "they close it for a foot ,lol)
I would imagine there were about a million wreck's though from people that don't have a clue about driving on snow.
