What the HECK is this????????

Okay have you ever seen snow that comes down in little balls???? Like hail does? Excpet it's exactly like snow??? It sqooshes you can walk on it and it makes snow sounds... but the entire ground is covered in little balls!!!

I think that it is the exact middle of what it takes to become either sleet or snow, one step in either direction is the deciding factor.

Is it sneet or slow?

that's the question??

That is my scientific guess, such as it is!

ace! we had some sno but that was about 8 miles away (at my school) and over a hill, beside the sea we never get any snow (my schools quite high up, and in a valley = lots of snow closures)

SNOW PELLETS
Frozen precipitation in the form of white, round or conical opaque grains of ice. Their diameter ranges from 0.08 to 0.2 inch (2 to 5 mm). They are easily crushed and generally break up after rebounding from a hard surface, unlike hail. Sometimes it is called small or soft hail. It is reported as "GS" in an observation and on the METAR.
