Statistics anyone?

Ok, got a question for all you stat guys..
When a poll says +/- 4% accuracy, how are they figuring that?

btw, I loved math in college, took up to multi-variable calculus, but I never got around to taking a stats class.
I hope it isn't too hard to explain..
thx,
dragonb

They are constructing a confidence interval. You need some tables and how many samples you are taking to make the equations top figure this out exactly.

I would suggest looking into finding a site that has an online lesson teaching how to do a 2 variable regression analysis. If you can do this you basically have all the knowledge that you would gain from a semester long intro to statistics class.
