Kids Engine Problem

This is my first post, but it's something racking my mind. I just drove through a huge puddle to get to my house, and my engine is ticking like crazy. I have a '98 Dodge Dakota, 3.9 v6. Does anyone have any information that could be beneficial?

Luckly I found out my girlfriends mom's girlfriend (don't ask) is a mechanic. She took a look at it, the ticking was from a gasket leak on my exaust manifold.

Also some good information for people who drive through water. After you go through the water, you should always check the oil and intake. If the oil is, at all, milkey in anyway. Get it changed imeditally. Get it towed to a place. It will save you A LOT of money. Also check the intake, if the intake is wet, you need to get some kind of fluid to add to your gas that takes out moisture.

Thanks for the post.
