I added a low review of Newegg why wasn't that added to the ratings?

I reviewed NewEgg (been a customer since early 2001) and gave them a bad review due to their raising prices, increasing shipping charges and now even matching Retail store prices, plus the fact that they shipped me wrong parts and I had to ship them back and pay for the shipping from my own packet even though it was their mistake.

So why wan't my review posted? I reviewed them on Sept 13th and now I see the 14th reviews being posted! I mean what gives? Is this site really Newegg biased?

We ask reviewers with questions to contact us directly at http://www.resellerratings.com/contact.pl in order to receive more timely responses.

Since you posted, and were unreachable via email, I'll respond here.

On 09.14.04, I sent an email to your ResellerRatings' registered address notifying you your review contained certain violations of our policies. Your email bounced back as undeliverable:

My email further notified you of the deactivation of your review pending corrections of these violations:

Missing or invalid Invoice or Order Confirmation number.

#(6) The posting does not relate to a valid commercial transaction and is not the type of posting for which the Web site is intended, namely rating the resellers of products or services;

#(14) The posting contains references, such as names or domain names, to any other companies besides the company that is the subject of the posting.

You must have a valid email address registered with us in order to leave a review.

If you want your review activated, you'll need to correct the above violations and email me [ Lara at resellerratings.com ] from your ResellerRatings registered email address to let me know that the corrections have been made.

Further, since no invoice number was entered, you'll need to forward us invoice documentation to verify a legitimate purchase transaction is being reviewed. You may send said documentation via email attachment, or contact us for a fax number. We accept reviews of valid charged purchase transactions, only.

Is this site really Newegg biased?
Certainly not; any assumption or statement that we are is incorrect and false.

All merchants listed at ResellerRatings are treated equally and our policies are enforced uniformly across the board. It's caused us to lose advertisers over the years but it is essential for us in order to be a fair and impartial resource. The advertisers that we have now understand and accept that they are treated no differently than any of the other 6,000+ merchants listed at our site.

We deactivate reviews because one of more of our policies were not met, invoice numbers are invalid or missing, etc.:

Please use the contact form linked, above, if you have any further questions. Thanks.

Sorry about the e-mail I forgot that I signed up here with my ATTBI email and didn't change it since. Now that ATTBI is comcast all of the mail going to @attbi is bounced back. It should be fixed now.

I had no invoice since my gripe with NewEgg was with many issues and not just one. I shop a lot there and I was just providing my observation. Bascially I collected all the things I saw as innapropriate and decided to post.
The reason why I posted the URL's is to show a case in point that some of the items on sale at NEWEGG are getting outrageously priced when compared to other sites. My case in point was the RAdeon card where at newegg was for $720 and at GameVe was for $550 hence I provided links in order for consumers to look at it themselves if they didn't take my word for it.

Anyhow I just want newwegg to wakeup, they were build by their customer base, many customers look to them blindly without even checking other sites, this allows neweeg to slowly creep up their prices without their loyal customer base even noticeing. Since what is extra $5 or $10 right? Well if this continues people will realize that the extra $5 multiplied by 20 different items or 20 different price hikes really does add up. Sometimes it adds up to the point where it's not worth shopping at NewEgg and it's a better deal shopping at a brick and mortar store.

Anyhow, all the problems with my e-mail has now been fixed. (No wonder I never got any mail notification. ).

If you don't like the prices at Newegg then buy the item else where. There is no one place on the net that has the lowest prices on every item. Prices change daily as new hardware comes out or items that have higher demand with less supply. This is a common practice done at almost every major retailer whether on-line or brick and mortar. You mention how GameVe has better price yet almost every motherboard and cpu they offer is at least $3-5 higher. I am not primarily a newegg only fan as I shop at a number of on-line vender's pending who has the best overall price for the total items I need at the time. If you knew the card was cheaper else where then why didn't you purchase it there.

Hello TEMPNEXUS,

Comparison shopping is always a good idea if you want to save money.

ResellerRatings has two great tools to accomplish such a task:

1. ResellerRatings' "Find a Product to Compare Prices" tool located in the blue box on the top left of our homepage. www.resellerratings.com

2. ResellerRatings' "Price Tally" tool:
http://www.resellerratings.com/tally.pl

Quote:
Price Tally is a tool to help you find the lowest total price on your shopping list of two or more products.

We'll show you a list of stores that sell all of your products, sorted by lowest total price, as well as a list of different stores where you can get the lowest price for each item which will yield the lowest possible total price. You can customize your results by choosing alternate stores for any product in your list, based on your personal preferences about each store, store ratings and reviews, etc.

If you're shopping for two or more products, forget doing hours of research to locate the right prices at the right stores. Simply add the products to your Price Tally list and get the results you want.
In any event, if you want to re-submit your above-referenced review, email me at: Lara @resellerratings.com (remove space) from your ResellerRatings-registered email and I'll forward you the email I originally sent.

Please note that review commentary should stick to your opinion and facts of your actual purchase transaction, and not divert to areas irrelevant to your transaction. Such off-topic commentary or discussion should be sent directly to the merchant or you can post them in this forum.

Thanks,
Lara
