Gaming Car Battery Light

Hi.. I've got a serious problem with my car. I have a ford contour (i'm ashamed to say that ) But... anyway, the other day the car died on the side of the road. We thought it was the battery, so we had it jumped, and it started and died again within a couple of seconds. So we replaced the altinator, and the battery, and the car started and ran. But the battery light came on. About twelve hours later the car started acting goofy (by the way... the car did this the first time it died) the spedometer started going crazy, the abs light and airbag light came on. And the car once again died. So... we replaced the computer and then the battery. Now the car is running agian, but the battery light is still on. We tested the battery and it seemed low, so it is now on the charger. But any suggestions as to what could be causing all of this. After replacing the computer, battery, and altinator... what else could be wrong? Please Help!

The car sat for 12 hours then you tested the battery and it was low? Sounds like you have something draining the battery. Actually that's a pretty good draw on that battery. Have the car tested for a power draw.

We put the battery back in the car after recharging it, and the battery light is still on. Could it possibly be the alternator? How do you get your car tested for a battery draw? We got the alternator tested before the car died the second time, and it tested fine, but then after the car died the second time we had to replace the computer and the battery again, that's why I'm thinking the alternator has to be replaced again? Am I making any sense? Please help. I don't know where to go or what to do to test the battery draw, but if that is at all a possibality of what it could be, I'm up to getting it tested.

Work I figured it out so far...

In our case, we needed to replace our 175 amp mega fuse that was inline from our alternator to our battery. The fuse is located right behind the engine block. After spending lots of money on numerous parts, the mega fuse cost us $5.25 from auto zone, and I no longer have a battery light that comes on, and my car runs fine! I hope this helps you!!
