EarthLink Broadband?

I have Time Warner cable here and get my broadband isp thru them. Its Roadrunner. So yesterday in the mail I get this flyer, it's from Earthlink , trying to get me to buy THEIR broadband service and the flyer has Time-Warners name on it too. Whats the deal?
It wasn't some mass mailing to "resident" , had my name on it.
I'm a little confused at the signal Time Warner is trying to send, do they want me to dump Roadrunner and go with Earthlink?
Or is Earthlink doing some kind of lease thing? Price appears to be the same.

Good grief! Looks like AOL-Time-Warner is gobbling up the broadband market!!

Now they're in bed with Earthlink? I just got a spamscreen this morning about Earthlink BB...huh. Guess we'll see...but right now, this sure looks like an existing Monopoly going NUTS!

earthlink has a two pronged broadband approach:

1. dsl. this is what they've had for a while, and are pushing it more and more places. they were telling me i had dsl capability a long time before verizon would admit the lines were to spec.

2. cable. earthlink's in the cable broadband market, through, you guessed it, time-warner cable's infrastructure. basically, you're paying for earthlink, but they're piping it to you via aoltw's backbone.

i got one of those ads too. it had my name on it, but i figured it was because i am a dial up subscriber.

(edit) and to be utterly fair to earthlink, they had the partnership with twc BEFORE aol gobbled them up...

well I can give you the inside scoop... I install all 3, AOHELL, Earthlink and Road Runner....basicly the 3 are all the same company it's just they have to stay somewhat seprate so they can't cornor the whole market. However none are faster than the other, they all use the same cable lines and the same modems.. the only real diffrence is with RR (best IMO) you can use any browser you want... same as Earthlink (but they like you to use theirs) AOHELL on the other hand forces you to use their browser. Also with both RR and Earthlink you can use a router and have several compuers online at sametime but not with AoHELL, you can only have one user name active per account at a time.

Well, so far Roadrunner is ok, no reason to change
