why do I smoke?

I started smoking at age 10. It all started by sneaking one of my dad's marlboro lights and trying it in the bathroom. Soon after, I was taking entire packs out of his cartons. It would take about a week and a half to go through a pack. By then, he was into a new carton. He never caught me.

By the time I was in high school, I was on to marlboro reds, still taking about a week to go through a pack, just an "ocassional" smoker. Now, at age 28, I go through about three packs a day, tearing the filters off my reds about half the time. I have one of those online services auto-ship my smokes to me. I order 6 cartons every two weeks.

Why do I continue to smoke? I guess because I like it. At this point in my life, I don't have any desire to quit.

i recently quit and it was literally the hardest thing i have eer done...however, i worry for your health having been smoking for 18 years...the reason i quit, and its something for you to think about is that 3 of my four grandparents have died and it may have been avoided had they not been a smoker..one died while my dad was 13 and my grandfather died just a week ago and his wife 2 years ago but the point bweing those two quit after 25 years and still had serious complications from it...im not trying to preach to ya its just something to think about...
