Supersize Me - A Documentary
www.supersizeme.com
The idea, basically, was to illustrate how unhealthy fast food is by eating McDonald's. Three meals a day, every day, for a month. And getting the amount of exercize the average American gets, if I understand correctly.
It comes out May 7th. I can hardly wait!
Oh, yeah. Since the making of this film, McDonald's has decided to discontinue its Supersized portions by the end of the year, and they're introducing a "health-conscious Happy Meal." With booklets on health by the nutrition expert that worked for Oprah.

ROFL that looks like an awesome movie. But it looks like an independent film, so it's probably not going to show in a lot of places. Independent films are the best.

Luckily, I'm in L.A..
I've been helping to proofread a magazine for some acquaintences of mine, who have an interview with the filmmaker...it just made me want to see it that much more.

Whats funny about McDonalds giving up there super size meals is, you can STILL buy the super size fries and a drink from the menu. But now it just costs more to get what they offered before in a combo. They arent trying to be healthy, they just want more money.

What I wonder about is, when did a Big Mac become the symbol of unhealthy eating? Ya know what I mean? Like when somebody says, "That's like eating two Big Macs" when they're describing something that would only appeal to a Yeti, or something!
Heck, anybody who would willingly dine on Big Macs more than once a week already has something wrong going on, I say.
There's lots of other places that serve up good cheeseburgers, or "Nature's Perfect Food", IMO.
I'll now return this thread to its lawful Geeraff. |

what's next? no 3 piece dinner from KFC
gimme a break, it won't do anything for the problems it'll only shift it to a different target until they act like they're doing something too.
KFC: Oh and we'll switch from 90% lard to 87% lard.. thats a 3% savings!
Oh and ummm we need to charge a buck more per piece of chicken because non lard costs more than lard
(yes I realize lard is no longer used, its an example)

What i thought was stupid was people trying to sue McDonalds (the coffee case, and the case of fatty foods), if you're going to eat at McDonals, understand the "risks," order your food, after they ask "Do you want fries with that?" say yes, leave and eat. it's not really that hard. or you can just avoid McDonalds. sigh oh well, as long as people want money, and there are lawyers to back them up it seems as if this will continue
