Bush visits, McDonald's employees lose jobs!

And I thought at least those jobs were safe!

In my hometown today:

It is rumored that his wife tossed a lit cigarette into the ball-bin GW was playing in at the time. Fortunately no one was injured.

just thought I'd have some fun with this unusual coincidence
EDIT: added new link

The McDonald’s manager says tell us some of the secret service members that were in town to guard President Bush even stopped in for some food when the fire broke out.
Another secret service plot, maybe?

Nice linking of the two stories, Gomer.

Cheers

Fire officials observed that there was not a sprinkler system in the building. This could have led to the buildings quick demise.
Ummm I'm guessing that would be a huge law broken?

NO sprinkler system in a restaurant, much less a public space?!?!

Really sucks about McDonalds
Actually I don't think there's another McDonalds for about 5-8 miles going towards South Bend, IN
Thats a long ways to go to a McDonalds

I think I know of 2 within 2 miles here

I had seen that Bushy was in Niles in my old High School.

Gomer, did you go to Niles HS or Brandywine?!

Brandywine... as for the sprinkler system, the building was built in 1974 when sprinklers were not required. The other McDonalds is down in Roseland near the toll road.
