NO! Don't upgrade!

I'm a member of another forum that had a version like this one, then when it upgraded to the new version, it sucked. The mail system was broken for weeks and users ended up getting subscription notices 2 weeks after posting in a thread. The search function no longer worked. The "find more posts from this user" would only have 1 page (all of the pages would look exactly the same as page 1).
Upgrading just caused a whole bunch of problems that took weeks to fix.

Come on. Have some faith in Scott and Rob. I am sure there will be issues, always is after an upgrade, I am sure we will survive. Besides if we never upgraded in fear of problems then we would still be in the stone ages.

There is also a cast of developers behind the scenes like Michael P that I'm sure can help in a critical time.

I feel sorry for Scott because he's gotta wake up at 6am (PST) to start

Good luck!
May the schwartz be with you

Hey, don't blame it on me if TechIMO disappears on Thursday. I am part of the think-tank for this operation, not the development staff.

I do not believe we will have any significant upgrade problems considering Scott and Michael both have extensive web development backgrounds. Just look at PhotoPost for an example of their quality work.

Read a book, Rodent. Or just chew up the pages, as usual.

Thanks for the forewarning, Scott - hopefully we won't get too many "What happened to TechIMO?" threads.

Be interesting to see what hacks get lost or mangled in the version change. We in for a bit of an intersting time, are we?

Cheers
Mick

Thanks for the heads-up! buckle your seatbelts, gents, and please download any important material in case of loss by the airline. Thank you for flying TechIMO!

yeah what are the new features? a little change wouldnt hurt, although i think that the site now has a very clean, nice professional look as it. That is the reason i started to use this forum. It is so much nicer that all of the other ones because it is so clean and such.
