How to promote a band? online

My friends band wants to promote their band. We are in the procces of doing downloads.com's thing. Does anyone know where I can get their stuff played on a internet radio station?

I do believe you can set up your own radio station at live365.com .

Quite some time ago my friend set herself up a radio station, she controlled the playlist.

Of course, people would still have to find the thing. Their personal station would be listed under whatever category the band specified, but there's got to be tons of people already doing this. The point being, people would still have to be looking for that particular band.
