HAHAHHAAA!!
Oh yeah, me too!
BUT... the natives are downright CRAZY about this dish...I think it's like the time I was working in an
extremely urban area *cough* south central L.A.* and my buddy took me out for some "soul food"...
Okay, look, I'm a white guy, (and the fact that my Japanese friends got me hooked on raw fish notwithstanding,) this was some
pretty bad jazz, man!
Greasy collard greens, "dirty rice" (believe me, you DON'T wanna know about this stuff) ham hocks (this is basically pig's feet and knuckles) and gumbo.
Actually, the gumbo was pretty good, in a mouth-searing HOT kind of way. Shrimp, crab, and unidentified other stuff. By that time, I had learned not ask what was in it...
The experience was topped off with as much corn bread as I wanted. Oh man, give me corn bread when I'm hungry!
Dang, that sounds like a good song title....
Sorry, I digress. This, ah...
SCRAPPLE you speak of....
Again:
what the hell IS IT?!?
