Check your Credit Card Bill!

I just received my Visa bill and to make a long story short, it had a bogus charge for $9.95 from a "WPME.NET". Got up on that website and it indicated it was a web-page design co. (never heard of 'em) and the tele # was a recording.

I browsed google and found others that received the same rip-off charge on their charge card bill from WPME.NET. So these guys got my credit card number from somewhere!

The Visa Co. credited my account, but now they have to cancel that card and re issue a new one.... yikes!

So anyway, check your credit card bill closely!

Did you use that card on any shady internet sites lately? Maybe it was some computer hardware place. I never give my cc unless I'm sure they're a reputable place to buy from.

I would hope that checking the transactions on your CC bill would be common sense.

Not for a lot of people. You'd think the same w/ checking account. Many people have a different set of priorites. Can you fault them for that? No.

"sense" you would think so? some don't! especially when it is such a small amount. "Oh, $9.95.. it must have been something I bought on the internet." Some folks, not me, have more $ than time and wouldn't bother investigating. They feel $9.95 isn't worth the bother.

my normal internet use, newegg, ebay, callaway golf, frontier airlines, expedia, car rental co's ... etc. almost, if not all transactions have been with major companies!

WPME.NET PSOFTINK.COM Credit Card crafty Ripoff Internet

I received two bogus charges in the amount of $9.95 each on two separate credit cards. The web address for the charges were psoftink.com and wpme.net. Upon accessing both sites, the web pages were identical except for the contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses. I called the two banks involved and they quickly credited my accounts and we cancelled the cards. I do not know how they got my numbers, but obviously they did so through on-line purchases I had made. I always use secure sites, so these people are crafty. Everyone should check their cards carefully for charges of $9.95.

Two cards taken... I would reinstall my OS to make sure I didnt have someone watching me or something along those lines. I use Norton Antivirus and Ad-aware and Spybot religiously.
