The last paragraph is telling

Note trained in IRAQ the place with no ties to terrorism.

The largest plot to kill people through a terrorist act trained in Iraq.

Now of course this assumes that the plot was hatched and training occurred before the war. But due to scope and scale it would appear as if this was the case.

That he was trained in iraq doesn't mean iraq was tied to terrorism.

As I remember, the 9/11 terrorists were trained in U.S., that didn't make anyone say 'the u.s. has ties to terrorism'...

I'm sorry but I fail to see where it says that he was trained/funded by a man living in government housing and salary.

Reuters/Yahoo says he was trained by al-Zarqawi, but in nowhere do I see he was living in government housing and salary.
Reuters says he was funded by Suleiman Darwish from Syria.

I can not find the original story but here is at least a link to some of the information.

Quote:
Iraq: Hussein allegedly offered safe haven to Al Qaeda's and al-Zarqawi's operatives in the northern region.
The original story that I heard indicated more than simple safe haven. But at the very least this indicates that hussein had blessed the offer of safe haven.

The salary thing might well be only for these two terrorists. I am doing this with strange names from several month old passing information.

Quote:
* Abdul Rahman Yasin was the only member of the al Qaeda cell that detonated the 1993 World Trade Center bomb to remain at large in the Clinton years. He fled to Iraq. U.S. forces recently discovered a cache of documents in Tikrit, Saddam's hometown, that show that Iraq gave Mr. Yasin both a house and monthly salary.
I will keep looking for the story I remember.

either way, im pretty sure Saddam knew Al Qaeda was in his country training

even if he didnt fund the training groups, in my eyes that is supporting terrorism. The man used fear against his own people whats to say he has a soft spot for terrorsim

Perhaps the reason I associate Al with the salary is because every article containing al-Zarqawi's name and the word salary comes up with these other two al-qaeda members who were on the dole after the first WTC attack. Sorry for any confusion.

al-Zarqawi appears to just have been rendered medical care and with saddams blessing, allowed to run a terrorist training camp in Iraq.
