Kids inner turmoil

its about purchasing a newer vehicle(yet)again.

am i the only one who goes thru the process of:

say to self: that truck (car/motorcycle/ATV/motorhome/ad nauseum) sure looks nice. i m gonna look at it.
honey, you should ve seen the nice truck i looked at!!
she says"BUY IT"(notice decision is already made for me)
take said vehicle for test ride.
negotiate price and trade in
dig up over 50% of the money needed.
and now have doubts....do i really needed a newer vehicle??
right now we have 3 licensed vehicles in a 2 person household.

i am thinking about trading in our faithful jeep cherokee sport ,taking my not so faithful work/snowplow truck(rokzan,84 chev pu) off the road and using her for strictly plowing.

which means ruby would have the park ave. and i would be stuck driving a 99 chev silverdildo Z71 ext cab, third door,4wd truck.
nice Sapphire blue in color. and we would be down to two licensed and insured vehicles instead of three.

the truck issue exists because of the carpenter contracting i do in my "spare" time. to haul around tools and material and so forth.

but i m always doubting my choice even before i make a commitment(kind of like just before we got married )

i m gonna do it

driving the Z71 to and from houghton everyday
with todays gas prices
OUCH

Sounds like a sweet truck though
If you're willing to donate to the vass foundation I'd be happy to help take away that guilt trip

Those Silvarados are pretty nice rigs though. And they really aren't too bad on gas. Probably get at least as good as the Cherokee does. I think mine (cherokee) gets 18MPG on the highway when I'm lucky. AFAIK, the 5.3s are supposed to get bewteen 22 and 26? City mileage isn't so good.

I wish I could afford something new. Well, decent. I'd be trading in my XJ for a compact. I'd like to get my hands on a Focus ZR3 or something in the 99 - 2001 range. Oh well.
