I m a new member of techimo world.
Surfed the forums for 3 days . Gone thru XP and Networking threads to brush my skills and to learn some cool troubelshooting steps and problem solving skills in a lot of threads .
This forum is great in both technical knowlegde and skills improving stuff. I m a gr8 fan of this forum now. I sincerely beleive u guys have solved most of issues related to Operating Systems, Networking , Security and general software related queries . U find hell lot of advice in finding/selecting the right PC based products .

I have cleared the first round of interview for a helpdesk support supervisor . The questions were related to winodows OS, TCP/IP and Storage .
Now i will be having another 2 rounds with HR and with Senior Manager .

I have met some of guys from the company in the cafeteria and have prepared a list of questions that are most likely to be asked .
I m trying to find answers to 4 questions . If anyone from u can please guide me on how to answer these questions i will be extremely thankful to you.
The questions are :-
1. How will you handle the team absenteesm which is a major issue for team u will be handling. ?
2.How will you handle an occasion when you disagreed with a supervisor's decision or company policy?
3. Tell us some of out-of-box plan to motivate your teaam members.

Will appreciate every bit of information u can provide. Thanks...

About the absentee thing. Have it so people don't get paid when they're not there. Money is always a big motivation.
If your team is working on a sallary and you can't do that, have it so people are paid for the sick days they don't take off. I knew a guy who had a system like that at work. Each month there were x number of sick days you could take. If you don't call in sick, you get paid for the days you did not take off. That system worked incredibly well. Once it was removed, people started calling in sick a lot more often.

I can't think of anything that would fit for 1 & 3, but for #2, thats a no brainer. As I have always been told, the boss may not always be right, but he/she is always the boss. Interpretation?..simple, what the boss says do, you do (within company and safety limits).

When any superior makes a decision, you should act on it..unless of course it is dangerous and should not be attempted.

The second question is about being a TEAM PLAYER, and the team is the company. Your response should be something like,

"I'll follow the decision of the supervisor. If appropriate, I may ask the supervisor as to how the decision was arrived. It may give me a broader view of how I execute my duties. If I seem to have some question about a particular company policy, I would go through proper channels to have a better understanding. But if the policy seemed to be dated, I would raise it for consideration to be reviewed by proper channels."

Well, if the interview ever gets really grim, study the scene in "Good Will Hunting," where Ben Affleck`s character gets the interviewers to put up some cash and the like.

Good luck.
