Poor guy. By next year it will be 27 months since he's played any football. Why didn't he try Canada?

ok, the normal arguement, if you are young enough to go to war you should be able to play football blah blah blah....
but the nut of the arguement to let him (and mike williams, who i was hopng the falcons would get) is that no one is forcing owners to draft these players. Heck, Clarrett wasnt even going to be drafted to late second, early 3rd. If a team doesnt think they are ready for the nfl, they wont draft them. Its called a business and thats what the nfl is and I cant believe the supreme court is involved.

There is a reason why professional football is played on Sunday and college on Saturday. There used to be laws forbidding professional competition within 50 miles of a college game.
If Claret is ruled eligible for the draft, it would be more injurious to college football than to professional. If a person declares to stand for the draft, their college eligibility is terminated. If they aren't drafted, they play nowhere in college.
Claret should try to play in Canada or NFL Europe to demonstrate his tallents.

So essentially the NFL is allowed to continue to use this country's institutions of higher learning as their own free minor leagues.

The colleges also use its football program as revenue generation for the institution! More than one industry uses higher education to train its staff!
