Sorry to hear that, cool you edited it out already. Just try a bit harder, speaking of that I can't tell you to try harder because I need to try harder.
The people that visit the IRC chat room all know about my extreme laziness.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you have the possibilty to get a second chance.
I hope I do better this week. Had an exam yesterday and friday another one. I wil be hitting the books (again ) the next few days.
Mike I understand, TechIMO and chatting is very addictive. I hope you will push yourself into learning at least 2 hours a day. That leaves you with 16 hours of chatting and posting |

Just keep trying...you might surprise yourself and get perfect grades.
But, if in the end, you gave it your best and it didn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. Losing a university diploma really means little in the big picture, there's more to life than a degree.

DOH!
Haven't told the parents yet?
Thats always the hardest part...
I'd suggest that even before talking to them, setting up a "battle plan" of your intentions and FOLLOW THEM.
As noted earlier set aside a few hours and STUDY (yes that means no techimo lol).
Its hard I know, I always had the same problem
I made it through, as have many of the members here.. you should make it through ok as long as you survive your parents wrath |

Cat,
What subjects did you fail? If you thought you did well, then you might look at why. There are several possibilities, not trying hard enough, potential learning issues or ineffective study techniques. When I was in high school I took calculus and thought I did pretty well. Actually I did well, but was unchallenged, basically they gave me equations to derive and integrate. When I went to college, they gave me complex problems where I had to first determine the proper method then apply it. A new level of requirement and I was failing at mid term. Luckily I had some really great seniors who tutored me. I basically moved into their room during evening study time and by the end of the semester I earned a C. I earned Bs and As after that due to their dedicated tutelage. I hope the best for you.

That's only 18 hours - who needs that much sleep a day????
Cat, do you have access to summer school tutoring at your school? Can sometimes make the diff. Year 12 is a hard yak nowadays, my dau's bf just finished and he had to lay off his skateboarding for a while - almost killed him, but he's now passed and can get into his electronics at uni.
Knuckle down and study this year like you've never studied before, second chances aren't always that easy nowdays
And tell yer mum ya can do better and that ya will - you make have to give up or slow down something ya love temporarily, but this year is important.. so we'll understand if we don't see ya round as much, and we'll be thinking of ya...
Good luck mate

I had arranged a battle plan, My mother has been moody all week and i was planning to tell her then duck.. I told her over the phone at work so to gauge her distress. She was supportive, calm and friendly. It all went very well.
I thank you all.
The subjects i failed were ART, whcih i failed becuase of an art assignment on some dead artist, Information proccesing tech, which my teacher changed in the final term and i wasn't all too sure what the hell was going on. For the first three terms we were coding Java, the last we did theory, which we never taught. I also failed information technolgy services, for the same reason. And i failed maths but i passed all my tests bar two.
Oh well. Maybe your right. I will try my best this year. I want the degree.

Wanna hear an Old Mans take on the subject ?
I failed the 11th grade TWICE !
Nope, the folks weren't too happy about it.
I gave up the chance to go to the Univerisity of Ga where 3/4ths of the 30,000 students were GIRLS so I could get a job in a MILL and buy a car.. How F'ing stupid.
The way I see it ya got 2 choices.
deadbeat now, and work the rest of your life(Like ME)
or
Work now and deadbeat the rest of your life as a BOSS
Simple.
I'm about 50 yrs old, and am 1/4" away from digging ditches if I F'up and lose my job.
Get a degree in something that you can work in any city and you'll have something more than the rewards I chose to chase
