Argh, new leader of Hamas killed
Quote: |
Abdel Aziz Rantisi was killed in a missile strike on his car Saturday, part of its declared campaign to wipe out the Islamic militant group's leadership ahead of a planned Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Two of Rantisi's bodyguards were also killed.

Oddly enough, I wrote this piece, which quickly became out dated. Quote:
The situation between the Israelis and Palestinians is very explosive. Muslim extremist suicide bombings on Israeli civilians and Israeli use of force while conducting raids in Gaza and the West Bank has both sides ready for the final encounter.
Abdel-Aziz al-Rantisi has taken over control of the terrorist group Hamas. His predecessor, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the paraplegic founder and spiritual leader of the Islamic militant group Hamas, was killed in his wheel chair by Israeli gunships as he and his entourage left a Gaza City Mosque on Monday, March 22, 2004.
The strike killed Yassin and seven other people. Hospital sources have claimed that the strike wounded 16 others, including Yassin’s sons.
This was not the first attempt on Yassin’s life. In early September, Yassin was wounded in an air strike. Yassin promised, “The Jihad (holy war) will continue.”
Rantisi is a hard-liner and fervently supports the suicide bombings and terror attacks against the “Jewish zealots.”
Rantisi is no stranger to assassination attempts. In 2003, he survived an attempt on his life very much like the one that killed Yassin. He has also previously stated that he is not afraid to die for the “Hamas cause.”
Suicide bombings, which the world mostly sees as terrorism, is self-defense, Rantisi claims. “They are a response to Israeli terrorism, individual and governmental, against Palestinian civilians,” he said, in regards to suicide bombings against Israelis.
The new Hamas leader also sent words of support to the recent uprisings by Iraqi rebels in multiple Iraqi cities. “We are with you, you are doing your courageous job against the murders, the killers, the enemies of Islam: (President) Bush and (Israeli Prime Minister) Sharon,” Rantisi said at a Hamas rally in Gaza, several weeks ago.
Immediately following the assassination of Yassin, many Muslims in Palestine called for revenge, even against America. Rantisi recanted that statement and said that vengeance would only be shown to Israel, not to America.
With a new head of Hamas vowing revenge against Jews all over Israel, more bloodshed and deaths are in the future for both sides.

| Good. And every time they install a new leader, kill 'em. Hamas doesn't need to exist.

Nominees for the newly vacated position are going to be hard to find. It'll become fashionable to nominate one of your rivals so he'll be worm food in a few weeks. (Well done worm food, I might add.)

"As the new leader of Hamas I pledge to continue the policy of "Israel has no right to exist" and blow up innocent civilians."

Suicide bombers...now suicide leaders...
I don't get it...I just cannot understand it. Four thousand years of this, and the only thing that's changed is, both sides have better bombs and guns. |

"Mishaal, speaking over the telephone to a rally in Ramallah city yesterday, said that all other initiatives had failed because they did not end occupation. "
Can someone explain the word " Occupation " Is this the same senerio as in Iraq ??? We have ultimate plans of withdrawing but it seems Isreal does not. If someone Occupied my home state I'd surely want them to leave, also. Am I wrong in this assumption ??
1878
First Zionist settlement (Petach Tiqva) established under the guise of agricultural community.
1882-1903
First wave of Zionists (25000 strong) enters Palestine as illegal immigrants from Eastern Europe.
Wasn't this the beginning of it all ??

It's isn't like established nations. More like eternal quarrels with borders. |

Maybe the next leader will want to negotiate rather that promise to continue killing civilians in cafe's and busses.
How can you ignore this guy's retoric.
BTW, IMO: Sharon is in political trouble. It could be he is turning up the heat, giving the next guy an advantage should Hamas decide to moderate and talk to the new Prime Minister. The old "Anyone is better than So and So!" program.
