no, its real. well that pic may not be, the thing to remember is that the two that goto the back of the far corner arnt connected with straight peices of wood (i.e. where they are glued / nailed) inspect closely, and you will see that they are angled at the end, as to give the illision that they are not.

That's an interesting conjecture, Blaze. I can see how that piece of wood that is behind the vertical one may be angled. Intriguing; I never thought that was really possible to do.

the key is how the wood at the front top left and right is angled... from a upper/top view you could see this easily, the illusion is created because from this view you cannot.

The piece, which extends from the top right to the back would have to be out of plane by at least the thickness of the material because the edge closest to the viewer moves from the inside of the box to the outside of the right-rear vertical piece. Although it would be possible to notch the top-right horizontal rail and front-right vertical rail to give this illusion, the shadow (color) of that piece also indicates that is runs parallel to the front of the box, not rearward. You will also notice a tiny shadow under the top right corner indicating that the top rail does run parallel to the front of the box.... not toward the rear.

It's photoshopped IMO.
