What thumb do you hit the space bar with?

i am left handed and i use my right thumb. but when i start a new sentence. or use multiple spaces, i do a fast little number with my left.

Does it really matter? For some reason, I can use either thumb I want, I can actually change with each sentence.

I guess learning proper typing technique in middle school did help a lot.
